The #SameHere Scale App serves as a valuable resource for connecting students with their teachers and school mental health professionals. It allows for the sharing of responses—upon request from educators—on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis, enabling secure, private conversations related to these responses. Importantly, no other students have access to your communications or responses.

#SameHere is a global mental health movement dedicated to normalizing mental health discussions across various communities, including schools and professional sports teams. By integrating these topics into everyday conversations, the initiative aims to foster a more supportive environment.

The development of the #SameHere Scale involved collaboration with school professionals, graphic designers, as well as leading psychiatrists, psychologists, psychotherapists, and social workers. The result is an accessible mental health continuum that establishes a common language for expressing fluctuations in mental well-being within the school community.

This initiative helps dismantle barriers to communication between students and educators through a straightforward yet effective tool that encourages meaningful dialogue. Traditional responses like "OK" or "Fine" often fail to capture the complexities of one's emotional state; the #SameHere Scale and app are specifically designed to enhance communication and assist individuals in addressing personal challenges to promote overall well-being.

• Access may be restricted to school-issued devices, ensuring controlled usage.
• Your privacy is paramount; all interactions on the app are secure and protected.
• Only teachers or designated school professionals can view individual responses; no peer access is permitted.
• Educators can request updates on student scale responses at their discretion.
• Students have the option to provide responses alone or include additional commentary.
• A "safebox" feature allows students to record their thoughts privately prior to sharing with educators.
